Sauvie Island Blinds

Project Date 2012
Project Cost: $2,000

Sauvie Island Wildlife Area sought funding to construct metal, portable blinds for the management’s west side units. Construction of the prototype blinds were completed prior to opening day 2012 and placed on Mud Lake #1 and #2. Following hunter feedback at the end of the season, the ODHA is poised to construct many more of these hides for use throughout the management area.

Boys Lake Enhancement

Project Date: 2012
Project Cost: $4,400

In 2012, the Oregon duck hunters Association was proud to fund another enhancement to the Boys Lake hunt area. Construction of a 525 foot wheel-chair accessible foot path leading to an ADA accessible hunting blind will ensure that all of Oregon’s hunting public will be able to enjoy this newest of SIWA’s hunting areas.

In it’s inaugural run, the Boys Lake was occupied on both Saturday and Sunday of opening weekend where two birds were harvested!
